Travel apps to make your trip easier

One of the great things about travelling is finding ways to make the holiday less stressful. And thankfully today there are so many apps available to smartphone users that you would be mad to travel without using some of them. While there are many hundreds of travel apps out there, here are some of our favourites. Check them out and let us know what you think.

Expedia

Flights, hotels, package deals, car hire, travel insurance, and so much more. The all-in-one site to visit when travelling.

Citymapper

These guys realise that when you travel you need to get around as easily as you can and their app will help you navigate around some of the biggest cities in the world in the best way possible.

Tripit

If you are not into the nitty-gritty of travel planning, then check this app out. They take all your booking details and give you a master itinerary for every trip. Just send them all your emails and they do the rest.

Evernote

We all need to make notes and scribble stuff down as we travel. New bookings, reservations, thoughts about where you want to go tomorrow, etc, etc. With this app you can keep track of all your text, photos, documents and the like, and share it across other devices with other people.

Hopper

With all the apps around now, checking and comparing flights is easy, but with these guys you can go one step further. You check the best flights to your destination and they will let you know whether it is the right time to buy now or whether you should wait for a cheaper flight. Thy will then notify you when the prices drop and you can book your flight at the best price.

Dropbox

We all love to take photos but we don’t all have the ability to carry them around with us on our travels. Nor do we want to risk losing them or misplacing SD cards full of pics. With Dropbox you can simply upload them to their site where you can access or share them at any time.

Duolingo

Believed by many travellers to be the best language-learning app available, they really do make learning fun and very interactive. If you are travelling somewhere where your native tongue is not the commonly used language, try using this app before you go to improve your language skills.

Tripcase

If you are a regular or busy traveller, you want to know that all your travel details and plans are safe and secure in one easy place. This itinerary management app does all that and a lot more to keep your plans secure and on hand when you need them.

Airbnb

A trusted community where you can list, discover and book places to stay around the world. Whether it is a local family room hire or a lavish castle, these guys have got you covered around the world.

Tripadvisor

The world’s largest travel site where you can check millions of reviews, photos, opinions and recommendations from other travellers just like yourself. Check airfares and accommodation, access travel guides and a lot more.

RoverPass

RoverPass is an online booking site for RV parks and campgrounds (i.e. Kayak for campers). Campers who use RoverPass can quickly and easily find and reserve campsites across the country without having to place a call

A great selection of simple and very easy to access apps that could change the way you travel in future. Check them out and let us know what you think.
