Top reasons for you to start running

Is 2017 finally going to be the year you do something good for yourself, that will make a real difference in your life, and in how you think, look and feel about yourself? If so, then maybe running is what you have been wanting to do without even realising it. Why not make this year the year you finally do it, and prove me wrong if you can, but either way, keep reading for some very good reasons why you should start running this year.

It’s a great way to burn calories

And as long as you are eating sensibly, we all know that if you use up more calories than you consume, you are probably going to lose that little bit of excess weight you have been carrying for a while.

You can do it anywhere

We think running outside is awesome, but you can run just about anywhere. On the treadmill, around the yard, heck we even know people who run on the spot in front of their Wii console.

You reduce your risk of getting sick

In fact, most people who run find that their immune system keeps sickness at bay most of the time, and when sickness does hit, they recover much faster than they used to.

It is a great way to meet people

You tend to meet like-minded people wherever you go – in the park, at the gym, or on the street. And these people remain friends for life because of that shared interest.

Your stress levels will reduce

Did you know that it is almost impossible to worry when you are running? You are so caught up in the moment that the last thing on your mind is work, or money problems, or anything else. You get a clear mind, you become very focussed, and feel great about it.

In fact there are probably so many benefits to running we could fill this page, and the next, and the next. So for now, let us encourage you to consider it as a great form of exercise which you will really enjoy, especially as your fitness levels increase.
