We all love the end result of what our particular makeup routine can achieve, but don’t you just wish some mornings that you could take a few short cuts and save some precious time? Well, keeping reading for our thoughts on how you can.
First and foremost you might need to toss some stuff out! As heart-wrenching as this might seem, do you really need all those brushes, applicators, and blush colours? And what about that six-month old mascara and last year’s eyeliner and eyeshadow? They all have expiry dates and chances are, it is probably time to go through all your makeup and have a good clean out.
Have you thought about keeping two makeup bags? Seems extreme, right? But the reality is, if you keep all your very basic essentials in one and everything else in the other, you may just surprise yourself how often you actually forget to dip into bag number two. And if after a few months you find that you never even look in that second bag, well, problem solved. You can just run with one bag and get your face done in half the time.
Start thinking more about your skin and less about what you put on it. If you take really good care of your skin, and keep well hydrated, you may find you will require less makeup products. It just needs you to think long-term and look after what you already have.
Try setting a time limit each morning and stick to it. It might be ten minutes, or it could be longer. Try and set a time and see how much you can really achieve if you can only do the basics in that time frame. It might include a quick moisturizer/primer/foundation, followed by an eyeliner and mascara, and finish with blush and lipstick – and all in ten minutes. See how you go and try to reduce the time you take and the products you use.
We love the ‘two-in-one’ or multipurpose products that serve a couple of purposes around the house, and make up is no different. There are many face creams that can can be used as a lip moisturizer, or bronzers that make great eyeshadow. Look hard next time you visit your favourite store and you might be amazed how many makeup products you can now buy that will do double duty.
Five simple changes that could save you a ton of time each morning if you are prepared to streamline your makeup bag and routine. What do you think?
As always, if you have any queries about the right product to use for your skin or hair type, we strongly suggest you seek professional assistance so as to look the very best you can.
