A delicious bottle of Aussie sweet white wine for under $5?
If you think that any wine for that low price would be a crappy cleanskin suitable for nothing other than cleaning out the sink, you would be sadly mistaken. In fact for the last few years we have been buying Warburn Estate’s Moscato by the case.
And enjoying every single bottle.
Keep it chilled until ready to drink and consume once it has been opened, and you will have a fruity white that will have your friends talking about it well after the bottle is empty. You will be seriously wishing you had bought more.
Enjoy it on its own, include it in a delightful Sangria punch, or share it over a cheese platter in the garden. You will not be disappointed.
Priced to sell, you will find this sweet Moscato refreshing, and with just enough fizz and alcohol content to make for a pleasant drink with lunch or dinner.
Though when it comes to pairing Moscato with food, you will find there are generally two opposing sides: those who never have it with sweet desserts, and those who do. It just seems to be one of those things that we either enjoy wines with similar or opposing tasting foods, and no one can change our minds.
On a personal level, we enjoy it by itself, with a meal, AND with a range of sweet desserts as well.
It is a fabulous accompaniment to a vegetarian or chicken pizza, fresh garden salad, almost any chicken or pork dish, with fish – especially fresh prawns, and of course after dinner with apple pie, raspberry sorbet, or strawberry cheesecake. And don’t forget those amazing cheese platters at any time of day.
Moscato is such a lovely, versatile white wine, and a steal at such a cheap price. Try one today and let us know if you agree.
